However you have come to stumble upon my little marketing blog sitting out here by it’s lonely self in the vast cyberspace, I hope that in some manner, shape or form I offer a viable solution or suggestion for your particular situation that may save you some time or money.
These are trying times indeed. Much demands our time, money and attention. Nearly everyone is seeking methods to save time and dollars. Thousands are seeking ways to supplement their household budgets online or with other part-time work. There seems to be endless opportunities. Promotions for many are simply so outrageous and yet so compelling. Who would not like another $2,000 per day working 2 hours a week?!
Buyer Beware!
I have spent over 10 years dabbling in Internet Marketing and have provided many meals to many “gurus”. I do not begrudge those that have found powerful methods to market successfully and offer their tips and methods for their profitable businesses. The old adage that “it takes money to make money” still applies online as it does in the brick and mortar world. I am convinced that one must be prepared to invest substantial amounts of time and some money if they wish to establish a successful online presence. I now know it will not come in short order if done with an eye to the future and built on a firm foundation. Various free traffic generation tools and methods are available and that is the simple foundation for success. How well one’s needs are met once they arrive at any given site is what will determine the success of any given endeavour. Learning to study and apply tactics others have developed and make them your own is not a new concept. Many fortunes have been made that way throughout history. It is not necessary to re-invent the wheel. Learn the basics and invest in your business is nothing new, either.
“If a man write a better book, preach a better sermon, or make a better mouse-trap than his neighbor, tho’ he build his house in the woods, the world will make a beaten path to his door.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Starting out with a new blog or beginning Internet Marketing is like being in a house that is way, way deep in the woods. So I like what else Mr. Emerson offers. “Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.” And time.
What I Desire
I have spent several years in door-to-door, belly-to-belly direct sales. I had to generate my own leads. I worked primarily on a commission basis so I had to produce or do without. It all was a great motivator to learn my trade and absorb every nugget of wisdom I could regarding sales training, effectively handling objections, active listening and learning how to find and meet my client’s needs. Many times that involved first effectively identifying their needs and then offering the solution. I will apply these same techniques to establish my online presence.
I may also be considered a sort of personal shopper. I have been involved in many programs and am guilty of “program jumping.” I would sign up or purchase a program and run enthusiastically with it for awhile, not get the results I desired, and then start seeking the next newest, hyper-promoted shiny venture. I have three discs full of e-Books and online business opportunities. I have yet to purchase my private island, taken expensive vacations, or partaken of any of the low-hanging fruits so easily plucked if one listens to any number of Internet Marketing Gurus.
I will suggest some services and products to generate a little cash to maintain my humble lifestyle. I will leave it up to each person to decide to use my affiliate link or find a way around it.
If you do not find what you came here for, please let me know.
Most importantly, I insist on having fun!
